Lawford Lodge

Lawford Lodge is our place on the farm near Bonnybridge. It's detached and all on one level, which is handy. You get views over the fields towards the Ochil Hills.

It sleeps six in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. The main room is open plan, with the kitchen, dining and living area together. There's a range cooker and a dishwasher. Patio doors go out onto a deck and then the garden, which is enclosed. The garden has a kids' play area.

It's a working dairy farm, so we're on site. You'll see cattle and sheep in the fields. If we're around and you're interested, we can sometimes show you the farm. You can also bring a horse, by arrangement, as there's a field and some stables nearby.

The local shop and pub are about two miles away in Bonnybridge. For a bigger shop, Falkirk is ten minutes by car.

You're well placed for getting out. The Falkirk Wheel is about five miles. It's good for a walk or a boat trip. The Kelpies are nearby too, at The Helix park. Both are run by Scottish Canals.

Falkirk has Callendar House and Park, which is an old estate with grounds. If you fancy a round, there are a few local golf courses.

You can get to Edinburgh or Glasgow in around forty minutes if you want a city day. There's a park and ride at Falkirk High station.

Facilities wise: everything's included, like bedding, towels, electricity and wifi. There's a washing machine, a cot and a highchair. There's parking right outside. The place is wheelchair accessible, with level access and a walk-in shower. Sorry, no pets.

For planning walks or days out, National Trust for Scotland and NatureScot have good information.
