Field View
Field View is a cottage in Cynghordy, near Llandovery. It’s detached and sits on its own up a private drive. The main thing is the view. It looks out directly over fields towards the Black Mountains. It’s very quiet.
It’s for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It’s got a 4 Star rating, so it’s well-equipped and comfortable. Everything is on one level, which is handy.
Getting here is a bit different. You cross a little railway line at the bottom of the drive to get to the cottage. The trains are on the Heart of Wales line and they’re infrequent, but mind the gates. You can actually arrive by train if you want. The request stop is right there.
You have access to about 22 acres of the owners’ land. There are two reclining chairs you can take out to sit in the field. There’s a patio with a table as well.
Facilities are pretty complete: WiFi, TV, wood burner, dishwasher, washing machine, parking. Bedding and towels are included.
The nearest shop, pub, or restaurant is in Llandovery, about five miles away. For days out, you’re right on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park. The Dinefwr Park estate is close by. The Dolaucothi Gold Mines and the big Llyn Brianne reservoir are within a 20-minute drive. There’s riding stables nearby if you want to go horse riding.
