The Knock is in Inverey, on the Mar Estate. It's a proper stone house, detached, with trees around it. You get a good view across the Dee valley to Ben Macdui and the Cairngorms.
It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms, so it's pretty spacious. It's a 4 Star place, so it's well-equipped and comfortable. It's not fancy, but it has everything you need.
The house is well set up. It's got a wood burning stove, which is good for evenings. There's a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and parking right there. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring one dog.
You're right in the Cairngorms National Park. You can walk straight from the door. Roe and red deer are about. If you want to go higher, Glenshee is about twenty minutes by car for skiing in winter. You can get the chairlift up there in summer for the views without the climb.
Braemar village is ten minutes away. There's a shop and a couple of pubs there. The Braemar Gathering is in September. Braemar Castle is worth a look. Balmoral Estate is about a twenty-five minute drive. You can visit the grounds and gardens when the Royal Family aren't in residence.
Further out, Dunnottar Castle near Stonehaven is a spectacular ruin on the coast. That's about an hour's drive. The Cairngorm Whisky Centre in Tomintoul is also within an hour if that's your interest.
