Mar House Braemar

This is Mar House, a stone house near Braemar. It looks out over the River Dee. You're in the woods here, so it feels private.

It sleeps eight people in four bedrooms. They all have their own bathrooms, which is handy. The place was done up not too long ago, so everything works and it's comfortable. It has a 4 Star rating.

The main room has an open fire for the colder months. Outside, there's a garden and parking.

You get red deer coming down to the river in the evenings sometimes. It's quiet.

You're right in the Cairngorms National Park. The walking is some of the best you'll find. Glenshee ski centre is about twenty minutes away if that's your thing.

Braemar village is four miles off. There's a golf course there. A shop and a pub are about three miles away.

You can drive to Balmoral Castle from here. It's the royal family's place when they're up. For a day out, Crathes Castle and Gardens at Banchory is good, especially if you like gardens. Inverness is about an hour and a half by car.

Things you've got here: wifi, TV, a washing machine, a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. We can take one well-behaved dog. There's a cot and highchair if you need them.
