Mar House is in Braemar, up in Aberdeenshire. It's a large, detached stone house, south facing, looking out over the River Dee valley. It's quiet down the drive, with woods around it. You often see red deer in the evening by the river.
The house sleeps eight. There are four bedrooms and they each have their own bathroom. It has a 4 Star rating, so it's well equipped and comfortable. The drawing room has an open fire. It's a good house for a group, or a family.
There's a shop and a pub about three miles away, in the village. You're right in the Cairngorms National Park here. The mountains are on your doorstep if you like walking or climbing. For skiing, Glenshee is about a twenty minute drive.
Braemar itself is four miles away. They have a golf course there. Balmoral Castle is close by if you want to visit. Inverness is about an hour and a half's drive for a bigger day out.
For facilities, it has pretty much everything: dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking for a few cars on the drive. The garden has a patio. We allow one well-behaved dog.
