Stuffer's Cottage is in Inverey. It's up the road from Braemar, on the edge of the Mar Estate. It's a one-bedroom place, good for two people. The rating is 4 Star, which pretty much means everything works and it's well looked after.
It used to be a taxidermist's workshop, but they've completely rebuilt it. It's timber-built, like the original. It's detached, so it's just you and the views. They look right out over the River Dee. You can see deer on the hills opposite most days.
The space is all on one level, which is handy. It's got a shower, not a bath. There's a washing machine, TV, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring one dog.
You're right in the Cairngorms here. For walking, you can step straight out the door. The Linn of Dee car park is about ten minutes' drive up the road, which gets you into some proper mountain country.
Braemar's about ten minutes away by car. There's a village shop there and a few places to eat. The Highland Games are held there in September.
Aberdeen is over an hour's drive, same with Perth. That's more of a day trip. The main thing here is the landscape.
