Toad Hall Cottage White Colne

Toad Hall Cottage is basically our granny flat. It’s separate from our house, down the end of the drive. You’ve got your own deck and a bit of garden that looks out over the fields.

It sleeps two, one bedroom and one bathroom. It’s got a five star rating, which means it’s been done up to a high standard. Everything is on one level so there are no stairs to worry about.

Inside it’s open plan. There’s a wood burner for winter. The doors open onto the deck where the hot tub is. It’s south facing so you get the sun.

There’s an electric car charger on the drive. We provide the bedding and towels. There’s a dishwasher and a TV. No pets, sorry.

Earls Colne village is about a fifteen minute walk away. There’s a shop and a couple of pubs there. The nearest train station is at Chappel and Wakes Colne, about two miles away. You can get to London from there in about an hour.

It’s a good spot for driving out to the villages. Long Melford and Lavenham are very pretty, all timber frames. Finchingfield is the one with the windmill and the pond you see in photos. Sudbury market is close. Colchester Castle is about twenty minutes by car.
