Pippin Cottage

Pippin Cottage is in Bures, on the Suffolk side of the river. It's a quiet place, a few minutes walk from the River Stour. The cottage looks out over fields at the back.

It sleeps three people, with two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's a four-star place, so it's comfortable and everything works. The stairs are narrow, typical for a cottage. To get to the main bedroom you have to walk through the second bedroom. That's just how it's laid out.

There's a wood burner in the living room. The kitchen and bathroom are modern. You get a patio at the back for sitting out, and a porch at the front.

You can walk or cycle from the front door along the river. If you've got a paddleboard, the Stour is good for that. The village has a couple of pubs that do food. The train station is close if you want to go into London, or to Colchester.

Colchester is about nine miles away. It's got the castle and is Britain's oldest recorded town. Sudbury and the Dedham Vale are nearby. For a longer day out, the Imperial War Museum at Duxford is just over an hour's drive.

Facilities included are a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are provided. There's parking on site. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
