Stable Cottage is near Wark village. It's about half a mile away. The cottage used to be stables, part of the old rectory here. It's one of two cottages in the grounds, so you'll see the main house.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's a 3 Star place, so it's comfortable and clean. It's got an open plan living area downstairs. There's a wood burner for cooler evenings.
The garden is enclosed, which is handy. There's parking right outside. You've got a washing machine and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's WiFi and a TV. There's also bicycle storage if you bring bikes.
The location is quiet. You're on the edge of the Northumberland National Park. It's good for walking. The Pennine Way is about a mile away. The whole area is a Dark Sky Park, so if it's a clear night, the stars are very good.
There's a local pub in Wark, half a mile up the road. It serves food. For shops, you'd likely drive to Hexham or Corbridge. They're about 11 miles away. They're nice market towns.
From here, you can get to a lot of places in under half an hour. Hadrian's Wall is close. Bellingham is about 8 miles for basic supplies. Kielder Water is roughly a 30 minute drive.
The coast, with places like Bamburgh, is about an hour's drive. Alnwick Castle and Gardens are also within an hour. It's a good base if you want to explore Northumberland.
