Coachmans Cottage

Coachmans Cottage is in Wark, Northumberland. It's one of two cottages next to each other, converted from old stables. They're in the garden of the Old Rectory, which is a Georgian house.

It sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean. It's open plan downstairs. There's a wood burning stove.

The cottage is surrounded by fields, right on the edge of the Northumberland National Park. It's very quiet. Because there's hardly any light pollution, the stars are really clear at night. It's been given a Dark Sky Park Friendly status.

For walking, you're spoiled. The Pennine Way passes about a mile away. The Northumberland National Park website has good route ideas.

By car, Hexham and Corbridge are about 11 miles. They're nice market towns. Hadrian's Wall is close, maybe a 20 minute drive. The coast, with places like Bamburgh Castle and Holy Island, is within half an hour. Alnwick Castle and Kielder Water are also easy to get to.

There's a shop and a pub in Wark village, which is about half a mile down the lane. You can walk it.

Facilities: parking right outside, an enclosed garden patio area, bike storage, wifi, a TV, and a washing machine. All bedding and towels are included. No pets.

If you want to book with another couple, the cottage next door is identical. Together they sleep four.
