The Dun Cow

The Dun Cow is in Bishop Middleham, a quiet village near Durham. It's a semi-detached house. It was a pub years ago, which is where the name comes from.

It sleeps eight people. Five bedrooms, two bathrooms. It’s got a 4 Star rating. The stairs are steep and a bit narrow in places. There's a woodburning stove in the front room.

The garden is enclosed, which is good if you've got dogs. It's a decent size with a deck and some furniture. You can park on site.

There's a village shop and a pub about five minutes walk away. The pub does food. The coast is about a quarter of an hour's drive if you fancy the beach.

Durham is eight miles away. The castle and cathedral are a UNESCO World Heritage site. It's got good restaurants and a theatre. There's often something on like a market or a festival.

For walks, there are public footpaths starting in the village that go out into the countryside. For a longer day out, the North Pennines are within half an hour. You can get to the coast, or places like Stockton or Darlington, easily by car.

Inside, it's got the things you'd need: WiFi, a TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. There's a highchair and a stairgate if you need them.
