Red Kite Lodge

Red Kite Lodge is on our farm at Dalreavoch, near Rogart. It's a detached wooden lodge. You get complete privacy here, you won't see another house from the windows. The track in is about a mile long, well-maintained gravel. It's on our croft land, so you'll see our sheep and cattle around.

It sleeps four in two kingsize bedrooms. It has a 4 Star rating. Everything is on one level, which is good for access. The front door is level and there's a wet room shower. The bath has feet, it's not a built-in one.

The main room is open plan. The big patio doors face west over the fields and hills. You get good sun in the evenings. There's a wood burner for cooler nights. The deck is raised, with a table and the hot tub. The kitchen has a dishwasher and washing machine.

You'll see wildlife. Red kites, deer, sometimes an osprey over the loch. We've seen pine martens about too.

The village of Rogart is about a mile and a half away. It has a pub that does food, a shop, and a railway station on the Far North Line. Dornoch is 15 minutes by car. Good beach, the cathedral, and the golf course is there. For a day out, Dunrobin Castle is about 40 minutes north. The Falls of Shin are a similar drive, where you can watch the salmon leap.

It's a good base for seeing the Highlands. Inverness is just over an hour's drive south. To the north, you've got the whole of Sutherland to explore.

Facilities: All bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if needed. WiFi is provided. You can bring up to three dogs. Parking is right outside.
