Wheatfield House
This is Wheatfield House. It's a modern house, detached, on our working sheep farm. You're down a quiet lane here. The view from the front is over fields towards Arran.
It sleeps nine people in five bedrooms. There are three bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating, which is down to the space and the fixtures being good quality. The ground floor is accessible if you need that.
You can bring two dogs. The garden is enclosed, so that helps. There's a games room in the garage with a pool table and things to keep kids busy if the weather turns.
Kilmaurs village is about a mile's walk. There's a shop, a pub that does food, and a restaurant. For a bigger shop, you're about 20 minutes from Ayr or Irvine.
The coast is about 15 minutes away by car. Ayr, Prestwick, and Troon all have sandy beaches. You can see Arran from the shore on a clear day. If you want to go over, the ferry from Ardrossan takes about an hour.
For golf, there are plenty of courses nearby, including Royal Troon and Turnberry, both within about half an hour.
Two good local days out are Culzean Castle and Dumfries House. Both have big estates to walk around. Glasgow is easy to get to, about 40 minutes in the car or you can get the train from Kilwinning.
Further out, you've got Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park to the north, or the Galloway Forest Park to the south, both about an hour's drive.
The house has the basics covered: washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. Parking for several cars right outside.
