Rowan Muir
Rowan Muir is a cottage on our farm in Gatehead, near Kilmarnock. It's detached, so there's no one next door. Everything's on one level which makes it easy if stairs are a problem.
It sleeps eight, in four bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, one of which is a wet room. The garden is enclosed so it's safe for kids and dogs. And there's a hot tub, which is just yours to use.
Being a farm, you'll see sheep and cattle in the fields. The back garden looks out over our land. It's quiet.
There's an external games room with a treadmill and some weights, if you fancy that. Inside, it's got what you'd need: dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included.
We're about three miles from the coast. The Ayrshire Coastal Path is right there for long walks. Royal Troon golf course is five minutes away by car.
The towns of Ayr, Prestwick and Troon are a short drive. They've got all the shops and places to eat. You can get the train to Glasgow from there in about 45 minutes if you want a day in the city.
For a day out, Culzean Castle is about twenty minutes away. It's on the cliffs and the grounds are good for walking. Dumfries House is also worth a visit. The ferry to the Isle of Arran goes from Ardrossan, which is roughly half an hour's drive.
There's a pub a mile and a half away. The nearest shop is about three miles.
You can bring up to two dogs. Parking is on site.
