Ben View

Ben View is an old croft house near Orbliston, about four miles from Fochabers. My family's had it for over sixty years. We've updated the bits that needed it but tried to keep the feel of the place.

It sleeps four, in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable, but not a show home. The stairs are steep and a bit narrow, just so you know.

You get amazing views all around. Out the front you look over Forestry Commission land, and out the back there are hills. In the summer, the surrounding fields have cows in them, so you need to keep dogs on a lead. There are two gardens, and one is fully enclosed, which is handy.

The place is pretty remote. The nearest shop and pub are about four miles away in Fochabers. The beach is roughly eleven miles, at Spey Bay. The Scottish Dolphin Centre is there, which is good for a visit. Elgin is the nearest proper town, about eight miles. Inverness is less than an hour's drive if you fancy a day trip.

You're right in the middle of the Malt Whisky Trail here, with a few distilleries nearby. There are forest walks you can start from the door. If you're into golf, there are a few courses within half an hour.

As for what's there: it's detached, with parking. There's a washing machine, WiFi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair. The entrance is wheelchair accessible, but the stairs inside are steep, as I said. You can bring up to two dogs.
