Ben View is an old croft house. It's been in my family for more than sixty years. It's detached and you're on your own out here. The location is rural, about four miles from Fochabers.
The views are really the main thing. You get a full 360-degree look from the house. Out the front you see Forestry Commission woods, and out the back there are hills. It's just fields and sky.
Those fields have cows in them during the summer. Because of that, you need to keep dogs on a lead when you're out and about. There are two garden areas though, and one of them is fully enclosed, which is handy for dogs or if you have children.
It sleeps four. There are three bedrooms and one bathroom. It has a 3 Star rating. We've updated things where it matters, but it's an old building so it keeps its character. The entrance and the main living space are wheelchair accessible.
You're right on the edge of forest, so you can start walks from the door. For a trip out, Spey Bay is about three miles away. The Scottish Dolphin Centre is there, which is worth a visit. The beach is about eleven miles.
You're in the middle of the Malt Whisky Trail here. Several of the main distilleries are within a half hour drive. Elgin is the nearest proper town, under eight miles away. For a bigger day trip, Inverness is about an hour's drive.
There's a shop, a pub, and a restaurant all about four miles away in Fochabers.
For facilities: there's a washing machine, WiFi, a TV, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair. You can bring up to two pets. There's bicycle storage if you need it.
