Garlies Lodge Bargrennan

Garlies Lodge is near Bargrennan, in a quiet part of Galloway Forest Park. It's a big, detached house that used to be a hunting lodge. We've got about five acres of land around it.

It sleeps ten. Five bedrooms and four bathrooms. It’s got a 4 Star rating. The layout is open plan downstairs, so it’s good for groups. There's a woodburning stove.

A games room is there for the kids, or for a wet day. We can store bicycles. There's parking for you on site.

The pub is about a three minute walk away. They do good food. The nearest proper shop is in Newton Stewart, about eight miles.

You can walk or cycle straight from the door into the forest. The Glentrool bike trails are close by. If you're feeling up to it, the Merrick, which is the highest hill around here, isn't far either.

Newton Stewart has a swimming pool, a golf course, and a cinema. The coast is about half an hour away for beaches. You can get to the Ayrshire coast, or places like Culzean Castle, in roughly 30 minutes by car.

Because it's in a Dark Sky Park, the night sky on a clear night is very dark. You can see a lot of stars.

Facilities: Washing machine, dishwasher, TV, bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. We have a highchair if needed.
