October Cottage is in Aughton, which is a small hamlet out in the countryside. It's a proper thatched cottage, detached, with its own garden. It's quiet out here. You get the whole garden to yourselves and it's quite private.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's a 3 Star place, so it's comfortable and clean but not over the top. It's a listed building, so the ceilings are low in places, as you'd expect. There's a stairgate fitted if you have little ones.
The local pub is about half a mile away. They do food. The nearest shop for basics is in a village about two miles away.
For getting out, you're sort of between Salisbury and Marlborough. Both are about a twenty minute drive. Stonehenge is very close, maybe fifteen minutes. The National Trust manages the land around it. Avebury is a bit further, but it's worth it if you like that sort of thing.
Further afield, you can get to Bath, Winchester, or the New Forest within an hour's drive if you fancy a day out. Savernake Forest is on the way to Marlborough.
Facilities: there's parking, a washing machine, WiFi, and bedding is included. You can bring one well-behaved dog. There's space to store bicycles if you bring them.
