This is Eilean Donan. It's a detached cottage in Kirknewton, West Lothian. It's on the edge of the village, set back from the A71, with a view over farmland. You get your own patio out the front.
It sleeps five, in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom with a walk-in shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's a single-storey cottage, so everything's on the ground floor. The doors are wide and there are grab rails in the wet room, so it's set up for wheelchair access.
The place is very light. It's comfortable and straightforward. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. You can park right outside.
It's quiet here, but you're not remote. You can get the train into Edinburgh from Kirknewton station, which is about a five minute drive away. The journey's about 15 minutes. Coming back here at the end of the day feels like a proper retreat from the city.
There's a pub in the village. For golf, Dalmahoy is close by. Livingston is about ten minutes away for shopping. If you want a walk, the Pentland Hills are right there. Jupiter Artland, that art park, is a short drive. The coast at South Queensferry is about half an hour.
