This is Eilean Donan out in Kirknewton. It’s a detached cottage on its own bit of land next to our house. The A71 runs past but it’s set back. That means you get a quiet patio and a view over the fields.
It sleeps five, across two bedrooms. One bathroom. The place is rated 4 Star so it's well kept and comfortable. It’s all on the ground floor and set up for wheelchair access with wide doors, a wet room shower, and grab rails in the bathroom.
Inside it’s straightforward. Decent sofa, TV, WiFi. Has a dishwasher, washing machine. We'll give you all the bedding and towels. You can park right outside.
The main pull, honestly, is the train to Edinburgh. You drive five minutes to Kirknewton station, park there, and you’re in the city centre in about 20 minutes. It beats dealing with Edinburgh traffic and parking.
Once you’re out here, Pentland Regional Park is right there for decent hill walks. There’s a local pub. Golf courses are nearby if you’re into that. Livingston’s about ten minutes away for shopping.
If you don’t mind a short drive, Jupiter Artland is a good one off – an open air art park you can wander around. New Lanark, the old mill village, is about 40 minutes west.
The coast is reachable. South Queensferry for the bridges and the waterfront is under half an hour away.
No pets, sorry.
