Dunultach Cottage is in Clachan, up on the Kintyre peninsula in Argyll. It's detached, so just you. The view out the front is the main thing, straight over the loch to the Paps of Jura. You can sit there most of the day.
It sleeps four in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, which means it's nice. It's got underfloor heating downstairs, which is good, and a woodburner. The doors are wide and there's a level entrance, so it's accessible for wheelchairs or buggies. The garden is enclosed.
You can see the water from the house, but to get right to the shore it's a short walk down the lane.
Tarbert is the nearest proper village, about ten minutes by car. It's got shops, pubs, and a Co-op. They have a music festival and the yacht race there. The ferry for Portavadie is just down the road, about eleven miles, which gets you over to the Cowal Peninsula.
If you want to explore, Skipness has a castle ruin and a good seafood hut. Carradale is along the coast. Campbeltown is further south, maybe forty minutes. That's where the ferry to Ireland sails from, and they do whale watching trips from there in summer. Machrihanish has the famous golf course.
You're well placed for ferries to the islands. Islay, Jura, Gigha, and Arran are all possible day trips from here.
For walking, the Kintyre Way runs right down the peninsula. The beaches here are good, long and often empty. You'll see wildlife. Red squirrels in the trees, deer, plenty of birds. Seals and otters are common down by the water.
Inside, it's got a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
