Rhunahaorine Cottage is near Tayinloan. It's detached and sits on its own. It was built around 1880 but it's been done up. You get the garden, which is enclosed. There's a patio area and a little wildlife pond.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one bathroom downstairs. It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's comfortable and well equipped. There's a woodburning stove, a dishwasher, and wifi. The stairs are wooden and a bit steep, like in a lot of these older places.
The cottage is quite remote. The nearest proper shop is about five miles away in Tayinloan. The pub is four miles. For a big supermarket you'd go to Campbeltown, which is about a 25 minute drive. The beach is a mile down the lane.
You're right on the coast here. The views across to Gigha and Islay are good. It's very quiet. You'll see a lot of birds. The RSPB reserve at Machrihanish is nearby if you're into that.
Campbeltown has a couple of distilleries if you like whisky. Tarbert is a nice village with a harbour, about a 40 minute drive. For a day out, you can get the ferry from Tayinloan over to the Isle of Gigha. The National Trust for Scotland looks after the gardens there.
The Kintyre peninsula has good walking, like the Kintyre Way, and some decent beaches. The one at Machrihanish is good for surf.
Facilities wise: everything listed is included. Bedding, towels, the washing machine, that sort of thing. You can bring two dogs. There's parking right by the cottage.
