Dunmore Villa

Dunmore Villa is near Whitehouse in Argyll. It's a big detached house that sleeps twelve, up to thirteen if you use the sofa bed. Six bedrooms, four bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating.

The main thing is the view. Every bedroom looks out over the sea, West Loch Tarbert specifically. The dining room is now glass-fronted with a terrace, so you get the full effect. They've done a lot of work to it, added solar panels and a wood burner.

There's a boat ramp and a jetty if you want to bring a boat or mess about on the water. The house is part of the Dunmore Estate, so you've got about 900 acres to go walking in, including a couple of miles of coastline.

For a pub or shops, you need to drive to Tarbert. It's about seven miles along the coast road. It's a proper fishing village with places to eat. Some of the pubs are dog-friendly.

If you want to explore islands, the ferries to Arran, Gigha, Islay and Jura aren't far. There are a few castles nearby too, like Tarbert Castle and Skipness Castle. For a local walk, the Kilberry area has forest and coastal paths.

The facilities are what you'd expect for a house this size: washing machine, dishwasher, TV, parking. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. There's a cot and highchair if you need them.

You can book it together with the place next door, Anchor Cottage, if you've got a bigger group.
