Mountain View Tomintoul

This is Mountain View, up in Tomintoul. It's detached, which means you get it to yourself. The back garden is enclosed and it looks straight out over fields to the Avonside hills. The view is pretty much what it says on the tin.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. One of the bathrooms is a wet room on the ground floor. It has a 4 Star rating so it's well equipped. Everything's included: bedding, towels, washing machine, dishwasher. There's a woodburning stove for the cooler evenings.

The place is largely on one level, so it's good for accessibility. There's a ramp at the front door. The stairs inside to the first floor are there, but they're fairly standard.

You can bring one well-behaved dog. The garden is enclosed, which helps.

Tomintoul itself is the highest village in the Highlands. There's a local shop for basics and a couple of pubs that do food. It's quiet, but in a good way. You're really here for the outdoors.

You're right on the edge of the Cairngorms National Park. The walking is serious and right from the door. For skiing, The Lecht is about 20 minutes away and Cairngorm Mountain is about 40 minutes. The Glenlivet Estate is a ten minute drive for mountain biking or a distillery tour.

If you want a change from the hills, the Moray coast with places like Cullen and Findhorn is about an hour's drive north.
