Estfeld Lodge is over in Tickhill. It's a four-bedroom house that sleeps nine. We've updated the whole place recently. It's got two bathrooms, both with showers.
The rating is 4 Star. It's a solid, comfortable house. Not a palace, but it's got everything you need and it's in good shape.
There are two sitting rooms. One has a woodburning stove, which is good for cooler evenings. It means a bigger group can split up if they want to. The garden is enclosed. It's a decent size, with a patio area.
It's in the middle of the village, so you can walk to things. There are a couple of pubs and some shops a few minutes away. You can park on site. We take one dog if you have one.
Tickhill Castle is a ruin in the village centre. It's a scheduled monument. For a proper castle you can go in, Conisbrough Castle is about a twenty-minute drive. It's an English Heritage site.
You're well-placed for getting about. Doncaster is fifteen minutes by car. Sheffield is about forty minutes. York is just over an hour if you want a day out there.
The countryside around here is good for walking. You can get straight out from the house onto country lanes. For organised trails, the National Trust in Yorkshire has lots of options. The Peak District National Park is within forty-five minutes if you head west.
Inside, it's got a dishwasher and a washing machine. There's a TV and WiFi. All the bedding and towels are provided. The kitchen has everything you'd expect.
If you're planning days out, the Visit Doncaster website has local information.
