The Captains is in Invernaver, near Bettyhill. It's a detached cottage on its own. You have the garden and it's got a good view down to the river.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating, which is good. It's clean and warm. It's open plan downstairs. The stairs are standard.
Outside, you're about five minutes' walk from the Naver estuary. You can walk along the river path or down to the beach. The coastal scenery here is massive and empty. You can drive part of the North Coast 500 route from here.
Bettyhill village is a short drive or a 20-minute walk. There's a shop and post office at the top of the hill. For food, there's a hotel, The Store, and the Farr Bar Inn. The Clachan Café is good too. There's a small play park by the school.
If you want to explore further, Tongue is about 15 minutes south by car. Thurso, with more shops and the station, is about 40 minutes east. The west coast, like Durness and Smoo Cave, is under an hour's drive west. It's a good base for the very north coast.
Facilities wise: there's on-site parking, an electric vehicle charger, WiFi, and bedding and towels are included. It's got a washing machine. The garden is enclosed. No pets, sorry.
