Rhianchaitel House is in Bettyhill, on the far north coast. It's a detached croft house, over a hundred years old. It stands on its own, so you get the grounds to yourselves. There's the ruin of an older croft from the 1700s just outside.
It sleeps five people. Three bedrooms and one bathroom. One single bedroom is downstairs near the back door. Upstairs there's a kingsize room and a double room. The double room has a great view down to the beach. The bathroom upstairs has a separate shower and a free-standing bath. The house has a 4 Star rating.
You can bring two dogs. The garden isn't fully fenced, but it's a good spot for them as the track is a fair way off and vehicles are rare and slow. You enter through the back door, which is handy for boots. The kitchen is a big space with a floor-to-ceiling window looking out over the beach and the hills. There's a TV in there and another in the living room.
Bettyhill has a shop, a café, and a hotel with a bar and restaurant. The house is about halfway down the hill towards Farr Beach, so you can walk to the village centre or the sand.
For getting out, the NC500 route goes through the village. To the west, Tongue has Ben Loyal and Ben Hope. Durness is further on. There are more good beaches east at Armadale, Strathy, and Melvich. You're in a good spot for walking, cycling, or surfing. There's local fishing, and golf is at Reay, which is about a 30 minute drive.
The facilities include parking, a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and a cot and highchair if needed. Bedding and towels are included. It's got Christmas stuff if you're booking for then.
