Allerton House Stable

This is Allerton House Stable. It's in Jedburgh, in the Scottish Borders. It's a converted stable block in the grounds of a bigger house called Allerton House.

It’s for two people. One bedroom upstairs, one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, which means it has everything you need and it’s clean, but don't expect luxury. It's simple and comfortable.

It’s an open plan living space downstairs. There's a kitchen area, a sofa, and a TV. The stairs go up to the bedroom. They're stable stairs, so they’re a bit steeper than in a normal house, but they're fine if you take your time.

You have your own parking space right outside. There's a small private garden area for you to sit out. You're also welcome to walk around the grounds of Allerton House itself, which are quite nice.

Jedburgh Abbey is about a 15 minute walk from the cottage. The town centre, with shops and a couple of pubs, is a bit further, maybe 20 minutes on foot. If you drive, you can be in Kelso or Melrose in about 20 minutes. Hawick is about 25 minutes away.

The facilities are what you'd expect. There's a shower, a dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. There's a local pub within walking distance.

For planning days out, these sites are good for information: Historic Environment Scotland and Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park.
