The Mansion House is in Gorebridge, Midlothian. It's about nine miles from Edinburgh city centre. It's a very big house, sleeps up to 26 people. Ten bedrooms, nine bathrooms.
The house sits in about thirty acres of its own land. Gardens, some fields. The views from the back are towards the Pentland Hills.
It's an 18th century building, so the rooms are tall. High ceilings, big windows. The main hall has a large fireplace and doors out to the garden. There's a piano in there if anyone plays.
Most bedrooms are on the top floor. Seven have en-suites, one has a private bathroom close by. There are two more bedrooms on the ground floor. The place is rated 4 Star. It's clean, well-furnished, but it's a period property. Expect the character that comes with that.
The facilities are what you'd need for a big group: plenty of showers, washing machines, dishwashers. There's a wood burning stove. WiFi works. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to three dogs.
They accept large group bookings, including stag and hen parties.
For things to do, Edinburgh is the obvious one. You're inside a 30 minute drive of the city centre. Locally, there's a golf course and places that do horse riding. The Pentland Hills are right there for walking. For history, Newhailes and Leadhills are both National Trust places nearby.
Parking is on site, obviously. You'll need it out here.
