This is Rose Cottage in Aberdare. It's in the South Wales valleys. The cottage itself is old, about 150 years, but it's been done up inside.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, and they both have their own shower room. That's quite handy if you're two couples or a family with older kids.
Downstairs is all open plan. Kitchen, then a breakfast bar, then the living area with a sofa and TV. There's an electric stove that looks like a wood burner. The stairs are steep, just so you know. It's that kind of cottage.
Outside there's a small enclosed garden with a picnic bench. It gets the sun in the afternoon.
Location is the main thing here. You're about half an hour from the Brecon Beacons. Good for walking. Bike Park Wales and Zip World are also close by if that's your sort of thing.
Cardiff is roughly 40 minutes in the car if you want to go shopping or to a restaurant. The coast, like Porthcawl, is about 45 minutes.
Included in the price: all the utilities, WiFi, bedding and towels. There's a washing machine and a cot if you need one. No pets.
For planning days out: Visit Wales and the Brecon Beacons National Park Authority websites are useful.
