Rose Cottage

This is Rose Cottage. It's in Aberdare, in one of the residential streets just off the main road through town.

It's a two-bedroom place that sleeps four. Both bedrooms are upstairs and they each have their own shower room. That's handy if you're two couples, or if you've got teenagers who take forever. The stairs are fairly typical for a cottage, meaning they're a bit steep and turn a corner.

Downstairs is all open plan. There's an L-shaped sofa, a wood burner effect electric fire, and a TV on the wall. The kitchen has a breakfast bar separating it off. It's not a huge space, but it works. There's a porch for boots and coats when you come in.

Outside, there's a small enclosed garden at the back with a picnic bench. It's private.

The cottage has a 4 Star rating. It means it's well-equipped and comfortable. All the bedding and towels are included. There's WiFi, a washing machine, and we can provide a travel cot if you need one.

Location wise, you're right in the South Wales valleys. The Brecon Beacons National Park is about twenty minutes in the car. There are some good waterfall walks around there, like Sgwd yr Eira. For other activities, Bike Park Wales and Zip World at Tower Colliery are both very close.

You can walk to the train station in about ten minutes. The trains go down to Cardiff, which takes roughly an hour. Cardiff Bay and the city centre are easy to get to from there. If you drive, the coast at Southerndown or Porthcawl is about forty minutes away.
