Southwood House is a beautiful, detached Victorian home with an abundance of rooms set over four floors and beautifully decorated providing a sumptuous feel. Situated in a lovely area of Greater London, you have Southwood Park literally next door, where great walks and play and gym equipment can be found, providing fun for all the family. There is a large living area on the ground floor and a separate kitchen with dining space accommodating twelve guests round one table, so everyone will feel at home. There is also an additional snug area and a downstairs toilet. On the lower ground floor is a basement area where you can access the garden and the utility room, which has an additional toilet. Upstairs are two further floors, with three bedrooms on each. There is also a family bathroom on each floor, including a feature roll-top bath in one, as well as a large walk in shower. High chairs are available along with a travel cot which can be provided upon request, however guests are asked to provide their own travel cot bedding. A pretty garden space to the rear provides guests with a courtyard, decked seating area and grass area for children to play on. There is a BBQ and garden furniture for those warm summer days should you prefer to eat al fresco.
Southwood House is the perfect place for families and friends to enjoy their time together . The light and airy, spacious accommodation and the beautiful décor are modern yet are in keeping with the character of the property and you will not be disappointed. There is a dedicated working from home space and free Wi-Fi should someone in your group need to continue working during their stay. Nearby restaurants, shops, playgrounds, cinema and sports centres provide convenience and activities for all of the family. Street parking is very convenient and permits for two cars are available for your stay, there are also local bays providing free parking at certain times. The train station is a mere 5-minute walk away with great transport links to central London; you can get to London Bridge in just under 20 minutes to experience all that the city has to offer.
New Eltham itself is a lovely area with many historic places you can visit and explore including Eltham Palace, an Art Deco mansion, once a favoured medieval palace and then a Tudor royal residence. The area is close to Greenwich, Blackheath and Kent, also known as the ‘Garden of England’. The convenience of the train station also means that you could easily travel to the coast for the day or even head further afield.
