Oak Tree Cottage is in Stoke Rochford, which is just off the A1 on the Lincolnshire border. It's a detached stone cottage on the Stoke Rochford Hall estate. You can walk around the estate grounds, which is nice.
The cottage sleeps four in two bedrooms, both doubles. There's one bathroom with a shower and a bath. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well looked after. It's clean and warm.
The downstairs is all open plan: kitchen, dining area, and living room together. There's a wood burner. The stairs are cottage stairs, so they're a bit steep. The garden is private and enclosed, with a patio and furniture.
You're surrounded by fields here. It's quiet. For a pub or shop, you'll need to drive a few minutes. Stamford is about a ten minute drive away. It's a proper stone town with nice streets to wander, plenty of shops and places to eat. They filmed some TV dramas there.
Within half an hour you can get to Rutland Water for walking or cycling, or to Grantham. Melton Mowbray is known for its food, if that's your thing. Further afield, places like Leicester, Peterborough, or Nottingham are within an hour for a day out.
Facilities: there's parking, a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. It says it's a luxury property, but I'd just call it very comfortable. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
