It's called Ashley Cottage. It's in Colsterworth, Lincolnshire. It's a 300 year old cottage, and it's Grade II listed. It used to be a bakery for people travelling on the old Great North Road.
It sleeps five. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. Because it was a shop, the ceilings are quite high inside, which feels a bit different. The stairs are what you'd expect for a cottage.
There's a pub and a restaurant literally a few doors down the road, about 14 metres away. A small shop is just up the road, and there's a mini supermarket about a quarter of a mile through the village.
It's right next to the A1, so it's easy to get to. If you're coming by train, there's a bus stop 85 yards away that goes to Grantham station.
Isaac Newton's birthplace, Woolsthorpe Manor, is just outside the village. It's National Trust. Grantham has a Saturday farmers market. Within about half an hour you can get to Rutland Water for the sailing and cycling, or Belvoir Castle and Grimsthorpe Castle. The old runway from a WW2 bomber base is just over the A1, if you're interested in that sort of thing.
For facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. We've got a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you need them. There's a patio garden with a BBQ. We allow up to two dogs. The entrance is wheelchair accessible, but the interior has the cottage stairs.
