Caledonian Escape is a big log cabin just outside Invergarry. It's on a few acres of its own land with trees and a small stream.
It sleeps up to six. There are two bedrooms. One is a king-size on the ground floor with patio doors, and it has its own wet-room shower. The other bedroom is up in a gallery and has twin beds that can be zipped together. That one has a separate bathroom with a bath. There's also a sofa bed in the main room for two more people. So there are three bathrooms in total, which is handy.
The main room is all open plan. It's built from big cedar logs, so it feels quite solid. There's a wood burner, a large old table, and the kitchen is at one end. The doors open out onto a big deck.
Outside, there's a hot tub on the deck. In the woodland area you've got a fire pit with a grill, a gas BBQ, and a pizza oven. There's a private loch on the property too, with canoes, paddle boards and a rowing boat you can use.
It is remote. The nearest proper shop for supplies is in Fort Augustus, about a 20-minute drive. You'll pass through it if you're coming from the south. There are places to eat locally, but you'll probably want to make use of the kit here and cook at the cabin.
For things to do, you're right in the middle of the Highlands. Glen Affric is about 40 minutes north for walking. Fort Augustus and Loch Ness are 20 minutes south. Inverness is just under an hour's drive if you need a city. The National Trust for Scotland has a lot of nearby places like Glencoe, and the North Coast 500 route starts not far from here.
In terms of facilities: all bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, and parking right there. The property is dog friendly, they allow up to three pets.
