Sweethope Croft 1 is in Thockrington. It's a stone cottage right on the edge of Sweethope Lough, which is a lake. It's one of a pair of single-storey places, so everything's on the ground floor. You look out over the water.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. The rating is 3 Star, so it's comfortable and clean. There's an open plan living area with a wood burner. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you've got a dog.
You're allowed one pet. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. Bedding and electricity are included. There's a washing machine and parking.
The place is quite secluded, surrounded by fields and woods. But it's on an estate with activities, so if you walk a few hundred metres towards the main lough, it can be busier, especially in summer. People come for the fishing and boating.
For a proper day out, you're not far from Hadrian's Wall. It's about a 25 minute drive to some of the forts. Kielder Water is about half an hour away if you want forests and a bigger reservoir. The Northumberland National Park is right there for walking.
