Sweethope Croft 1 is near Thockrington. It’s one of a pair of stone cottages. You look right out onto a lake, Sweethope Lough. The view is really nice.
The cottage sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. Everything is on the ground floor. There's a wood burner. It gets you warm when it's cold.
The place is quiet, but you’re a short walk from the main activity centre on the estate where people go for fishing and boating. That area can be busy in summer. There’s sometimes a bit of activity nearby.
The local pub is called The Blackcock Inn. It's about ten minutes by car down country lanes. They do food.
Kielder Water and Forest Park is about a twenty-minute drive away. That’s the big one for walking, cycling, and stargazing at the observatory. The town of Hexham is roughly half an hour’s drive. The Roman wall is all through here, so you can find your own bits to walk along. Northumberland National Park and Kielder Observatory have good information if you’re planning trips.
Inside, there’s a washing machine, a cot and high chair if you need them. Bedding is included. There’s parking right outside and an enclosed bit of garden. You can bring one dog.
