The Old Surgery is in Ditchling village. It was the doctor's surgery, obviously, but now it's a holiday let. It's right next to our house, where we live.
It sleeps two, no more. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's all on one level inside. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped. You should know it's accessed from the street by a flight of stairs, so it's not suitable for anyone who struggles with stairs.
The village is good. There's a pub, a deli, a newsagent, and tea rooms, all about fifty yards away. Our dog is friendly and might say hello if he's in our garden.
You're at the foot of the South Downs. Ditchling Beacon is less than half a mile away. It's a steep walk up, but the views are worth it. The South Downs Way runs right through there, so you can start a long walk from the door.
Brighton is about seven miles south. Lewes, the county town, is seven miles the other way. Glyndebourne opera house is a few miles from Lewes. Hassocks station is close for trains to Gatwick, London, or Brighton.
Inside, it's spacious. There's a living room, a kitchen with a dishwasher, a kingsize bedroom, and a shower room. You can use a private part of our garden. We provide bedding and towels. There's a washing machine, WiFi, and TV. Bicycle storage is available. No pets, sorry.
