East Monkton Farm Cottage is near Broughton. It's one of a pair of semi-detached farm cottages. You're on a working farm, so you'll see sheep and maybe hear chickens.
It sleeps four in two big double bedrooms, so you're not on top of each other. There's one shower room on the first floor and a separate downstairs toilet. The living room and kitchen are a decent size. It's got a 4 star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped.
You've got your own garden, which is fully enclosed. It's mainly lawn, good for kids or dogs. There's a picnic bench out there.
The facilities are what you'd expect: WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
There's a pub about an eight minute walk away. They do food. For shops and cafes, you'll want Cowbridge, which is about six miles.
You're in a good spot for the coast. Monknash Beach is close, but it's a steep path down. Ogmore-by-Sea and Southerndown are bigger beaches, about a ten or fifteen minute drive. The coastal path is right there for walks.
If you need a day out, Cardiff and Swansea are both about half an hour's drive. The Gower is a bit further but doable. For a historical day, Dyffryn Gardens is impressive and about 25 minutes away. For local walks and maps, Visit Wales is a good resource.
A few things to note plainly. Because it's a farm, there can be mud by the gates if it's been wet. The stairs are standard, not too steep. The second bedroom has a low beam in the doorway, so watch your head.
