Craik Forestry Cottage is in Teviothead, right in the middle of Craik Forest. It's a semi-detached house. It's quiet, and you get a good view from the back garden.
It sleeps five, in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom, and that's on the ground floor. The bedrooms are all upstairs. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable, but it's a forest cottage, not a hotel.
The big thing to know is there's no phone signal at all. None. But there is fast WiFi, so you can switch it on if you need it. The front and back gardens are enclosed, so they're fine for dogs. We allow two pets.
Inside, there's a wood burner for cooler nights and a range cooker in the kitchen. There's a utility room at the back which is good for muddy boots and drying dogs off. We include all bedding and towels. There's a washing machine, a TV, and a stairgate if you need it.
You're surrounded by forest walks right from the door. For other things, Hawick is about twelve miles away for shops. There's local fishing and horse riding nearby. A golf course is close by too.
For bigger days out, you can get to the Borders Abbey Way or head into Northumberland National Park, both within about half an hour's drive.
