Westerdale

This is Westerdale. It's a bungalow just outside Fort Augustus, up on the southern end of Loch Ness.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms and one bathroom. Everything's on the ground floor, which is handy. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. It used to be a croft house and we've done it up.

The kitchen is a good size, with a table. The view looks out over the golf course and the hills. The living room is next door. The bedrooms are down the hall. It's all straightforward.

The garden is yours to use. It's not massive, but there's space to sit out. Parking is right there.

Fort Augustus itself is about a mile away. You can walk it. The village is right on the canal where it meets the loch. It's good for watching the boats go through the locks. There are a few places to eat and a shop for basics.

You're on the Great Glen Way, so walking is easy. The Caledonian Canal path is right there. Boat trips on Loch Ness start from the village. There's a local golf course.

Inverness is about 45 minutes' drive for bigger shops. Fort William is the same sort of distance the other way. Further afield, the road to Skye is spectacular, but it's a good hour and a half to get across. You pass Eilean Donan Castle on the way.

The place has a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
