Westerdale is a converted croft house bungalow in Fort Augustus. It's detached, which means you get the place to yourselves properly, and there's a garden.
It sleeps six, with three bedrooms. It's on one level, so it's all on the ground floor. There's one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. We've done it up but it's straightforward, a good base.
It's a couple of minutes' drive from the village centre. You can walk down to the Caledonian Canal locks to watch the boats. The village has pubs, places to eat, and a shop. It's on the southern tip of Loch Ness.
Things to do from here: the Great Glen Way walking trail is on the doorstep. You can get boat trips on Loch Ness from the village. There's a local golf course. For a longer day out, Fort William or Inverness are about 45 minutes in the car. The road to the Isle of Skye is over an hour away but the drive itself is part of the trip.
Facilities: it's got a washing machine and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. You can bring one well-behaved dog. It has on-site parking. The entrance and all rooms are wheelchair accessible.
