Lockview Upper Flat
Lockview Upper Flat is exactly what it says. It's the upstairs flat in a building right next to the locks in Fort Augustus. You get a good view over the canal from the living room window. You can see boats going up and down.
It sleeps five. There are two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's a 3 Star; comfortable and clean. You can park on site.
The flat has a wood burning stove, which is nice on a cooler evening. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. WiFi works fine.
You're right in the middle of the village. There's a shop and a pub about twenty yards away. A restaurant is forty yards. It's very handy.
Fort Augustus is at the southern end of Loch Ness. You can walk down to the loch easily. Boat trips leave from here. The Great Glen Way passes through if you want some long distance walking.
You're in a good spot for getting around. Inverness is about an hour's drive west. Fort William is about 40 minutes south. The road to the Isle of Skye is just over an hour away. If you want information on the area, VisitScotland is the official site.
