Lockside Lower Flat is in Fort Augustus, right by the canal locks. It's the downstairs flat of two in the building. You can sit in the living room and watch the boats go up and down the locks, which is quite nice.
It sleeps five. Two bedrooms and a bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean. It's not a huge place, but it does the job. You're right in the middle of the village. There's a shop about twenty yards away and a pub about the same distance.
You can walk down to Loch Ness from the flat in a few minutes. Fort Augustus is at the south end of it. People do the boat trips from here. For walking, the Great Glen Way goes right through.
If you want to drive out, you're in a good spot. Inverness is about an hour's drive. Fort William, which has Ben Nevis, is a similar distance going the other way. The road to the Isle of Skye is about two hours west, maybe a bit more with summer traffic.
It's got a woodburning stove, which is good for cooler evenings. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. Parking is on site. Bedding and towels are included. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
