This is Gleaner Lea. It's on the edge of Campbeltown in Argyll. It's a first-floor apartment, so there are stairs up to it. They're carpeted and fine, but you should know it's up a flight.
The main thing is the view. Big picture windows look straight out over Campbeltown Loch. You get that from the living room and the open-plan kitchen area. It's a 4 Star place, so it's done to a good standard. It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. One's a king with an en-suite bathroom, the other's a double. There's a second shower room too.
You're on a road, but directly opposite there's access down to the loch side. There's a bit of garden seating there. Parking is on site, reserved for you.
Campbeltown itself is a five-minute drive, or a twenty-minute walk. It's a proper working town with a harbour. There are shops, a few pubs that do food, and a couple of museums. It's known for the whisky. There are three distilleries here: Springbank, Glen Scotia, and Kilkerran. You can do tours if that's your thing.
The coast around here is very good. There are some long, quiet beaches. The water is clearer than you might think, because of the Gulf Stream. You can see palm trees along the front. For getting out, the ferry to the Isle of Arran leaves from nearby. The ferries to Islay and Jura are about a 30-minute drive up the coast at Kennacraig.
Facilities: it has what you'd expect. Wifi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. We allow one well-behaved dog. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
If you're looking for more information on the area, these are good: National Trust for Scotland and Argyll Wildlife Trust.
