Victoria's Haven

Victoria's Haven is in Kirkcaldy, up in Fife. It's a mid-terraced villa, stone built. About 170 years old, I think. You're right on the edge of town, a couple of minutes from the High Street and the beach is just at the bottom of the road.

It sleeps five. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. One bathroom is upstairs, the other is a ground-floor wet room. It's got a 4 Star rating. We sorted the decoration a few years back. It's comfortable.

The layout is a bit different. You come into a bright hallway. There's a good-sized lounge at the front, then a separate dining room. The kitchen is galley style. It has everything you need. The stairs to the bedrooms are at the back. They're cottage stairs, so they're a bit steep and turn a corner. Just so you know.

Two of the bedrooms look out over the street towards the sea. You can see it from the windows. The garden is long, about a hundred feet. It's mainly raised beds. There's a patio area at the bottom and a small bit of lawn at the top that gets the evening sun.

You're on the Fife Coastal Path here. You can walk right out the door along the coast. Ravenscraig Castle and park are a short walk away. For golf, you're spoiled for choice. Kirkcaldy has a course, and the famous ones in St Andrews are about half an hour's drive.

The house is set up to be accessible. There's a wheelchair-accessible entrance and that ground-floor wet room. We provide a cot if you need it.

For days out, Edinburgh is under half an hour by train or car. Dundee, with the V&A museum, is about 40 minutes. The fishing villages in the East Neuk, like Anstruther, are a nice drive along the coast.

In terms of what's there: WiFi, TV, washing machine, bedding and towels are included. There's a BBQ. You can bring two dogs. There's a local pub up the road.
