Jack Strawbale House

Jack Strawbale House is in Strontian, up in the Highlands. It's a modern, detached house built into a hillside. The main thing is the view. It looks south over Loch Sunart and the Morvern hills. You get that view from every floor.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both en-suite. It's got a 5 Star rating. It was designed to be fully accessible, which is quite rare up here. There's a wheelchair lift between floors, wide doorways, and a hoist in the main bedroom. The kitchen worktops are lower. If you don't need that stuff, it's just a very comfortable, well-designed house.

The living area is all open plan on the first floor. Big windows and doors lead out to a balcony. There's a telescope for looking at the hills or the stars. Downstairs, there's another balcony with a hot tub, a BBQ, and seating.

It's off-grid in a practical way. Power comes from a small hydro system and heating is from a ground-source heat pump. It's very quiet.

You're about a mile and a half from Strontian village. There's a shop, a couple of pubs, and a restaurant there. The sea loch is right there for kayaking or just looking at. The Ardnamurchan Peninsula is nearby for proper wild coastline. Fort William is about an hour's drive for shops or the train.

What's here: all bedding and towels, washing machine, dishwasher, TV, WiFi, parking right outside. The garden is yours. No pets.
