This hugely impressive Georgian house sits in the heart of the vibrant market town of Thrapston. The market town of Thrapston has a bustling community, set beside the River Nene and surrounded by rolling fields, with an array of beautiful buildings including pretty stone cottages and smart Georgian buildings throughout the town. Thrapston has been a market town since it was given a charter in 1205, something which is celebrated every year with a fair in the town centre There are signs of settlements there that date back from the Iron Age.
Many walks can be enjoyed from the front door into the countryside and along the River Nene and with a choice of six pubs within walking distance along with a selection of cafes and restaurants, this makes the ideal choice for your stay. Just over 8 miles will take you to Rushden Lakes which is home to many high street and designer shops, a leisure complex including cinema, trampolining and indoor crazy golf to name a few of the activities. It’s also a great place for walking, hiring canoes and pedaloes on the lake. Just down the road is another lovely outdoor park; Stanwick Lakes where children can enjoy the adventure playground. Fun for all the family can be found at Wickstead Park, 10 miles away, which is a charming family theme park dating back to the 1920s.
Northamptonshire boasts many historic and stately homes including Althorp, Princess Diana’s ancestral home, Castle Ashby, Sulgrave Manor, Rockingham Castle and Lyvedon near Oundle. Silverstone Racetrack, where the British Grand Prix is held, is 36 miles away, and the historic university cities of Oxford and Cambridge are easily accessible.
