This delightful, single-storey barn conversion is set in a beautiful rural location where you can enjoy this peaceful spot, on the borders of Northamptonshire and Leicestershire. This well equipped, comfortable property boasts all the accommodation on the ground floor and has a lovely home from home feel that the owners have created for your enjoyment. Nestled on the owner’s working farm, there are only the sheep, cattle and local wildlife as neighbours, this secluded location is a real get away from it all! Smallthorns Barn has two sets of French doors from the open plan living/dining and kitchen area and from the master bedroom, bringing the outside in. You overlook miles of open fields and can sit in the enclosed garden enjoying a glass of wine, eating al fresco and watching the sunset.
Within ½ a mile, you will find the local village of Clipston where you can enjoy a beverage or meal at the village pub and within a 5-mile drive will take you to Market Harborough, with an abundance of high street and independent shops, pubs and eateries. Close by, you can visit Kelmarsh Hall where they host many events and weddings throughout the year. Althorp House is also in easy driving distance where you can visit the final resting place of Diana. Other local historic houses include Holdenby House, Lamport Hall, Delapre Abbey and Canons Ashby. At Foxton Locks, 7 miles away, there is a spectacular system of canal locks on the Grand Union Canal, making it the longest and steepest staircase of locks in the UK. Pitsford Reservoir is a great day out and you can enjoy many outdoor pursuits including walking, cycling, sailing, fishing, windsurfing and kayaking. Local towns within 15 miles include Northampton, Wellingborough, Kettering and Daventry. There are so many attractions within easy driving distance and easily accessible to the A14, M6 and M1, including the Space Centre and the NEC. Shop 1½ miles, pub and restaurant ½ mile.
