Waxwing Cottage is one of two cottages converted from old farm buildings here. It's all on one level. You're on a working farm, so you'll see sheep and tractors. There's a private hot tub in your own garden space.
It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, which helps. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. Because it's a barn conversion, the doorways and halls are wide, and there are no steps at the entrance, which is good for wheelchairs or prams.
The cottage is in Gartree, near Market Harborough. It's quiet. The village of Lubenham is a mile away and has a pub. Foxton is also about a mile. That's where Foxton Locks are, which is interesting if you like canals. You can walk there across the fields.
Market Harborough is five miles away. It's a proper market town with shops and places to eat. The train from there goes to London in about an hour, if you need to go in.
For days out, Rutland Water is good. It's about half an hour's drive. You can sail, walk, or cycle there. There are several National Trust places within reach, like Lyveden and Stoneywell. The Ulverscroft Nature Reserve is nearby for walks.
Inside, it's got a wood burning stove, a dishwasher, WiFi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking right outside.
If you're coming with a bigger group, you can book the cottage next door as well. They connect through a door inside. It's fine for families or friends, but the farm isn't suitable for parties or loud groups.
