Waxwing Cottage Gartree

Waxwing Cottage is one half of a converted barn on a working farm in Gartree. It's single-storey, which is handy. There's a garden and a hot tub that's just for you.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's well-equipped and comfortable. The place is wheelchair accessible, which is unusual for a barn conversion. It's also attached to Wagtail Cottage next door by an internal door that's locked. They can be booked together for bigger groups, but it's not for parties. This is a proper farm.

You'll need a car. The nearest pub and shop are about a mile away in Foxton. It's a nice village. The main thing there is Foxton Locks. It's ten locks in a staircase on the Grand Union Canal. Good for a wander.

Market Harborough is five miles away. It's a decent market town with supermarkets, some independent shops, and places to eat. You can get a train from there to London.

Within about half an hour's drive, there are a few things. Lyveden is a National Trust place, an unfinished Elizabethan garden. Rutland Water is popular for cycling and walking around, or watersports if that's your thing. Leicester has the racecourse and the University Botanic Garden.

Facilities are all here. Woodburning stove, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, parking. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. The farm has fishing lakes.
