The Milk Place

This is The Milk Place. It's a holiday let on our farm in Harby, Leicestershire. It's a converted part of a barn, so it's all on one floor. It's detached and you've got your own bit outside under the barn shelter.

It sleeps two people in one bedroom. The bedroom has its own bathroom with a walk-in shower. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped. We've tried to make it accessible, so the entrance is level and the shower is walk-in.

It's a working farm. You'll see calves and cattle in the fields. Sometimes you can hear them. If you're not used to farms, remember it's a proper farm, not a show one. There's mud sometimes and tractors chugging about.

Inside, there's a kitchen with what you'd need, a living room with a TV and one of those electric heaters that looks like a log burner, and the bedroom. There's WiFi. Everything's included, bedding and towels too.

The farm is in the countryside, so you can walk or cycle straight from the door. The local pub and a restaurant are about a mile and a quarter away. The nearest proper shop is in Melton Mowbray, about nine miles.

If you want to go out, Belvoir Castle is close. Rutland Water is about half an hour's drive. That's where you go for sailing or birdwatching. The Grantham Canal towpath is good for a flat walk. Nottingham, Oakham, Stamford and Grantham are all within a half hour drive or so.

There's another holiday let here called Hill Farm. You can book both together if you're a bigger group.

Useful links: Belvoir Castle, Rutland Water, and for walks, the National Trust in the Midlands has good options.
