It's called Malt House. It's a Georgian style house, detached, on the edge of Skenfrith village. There's a paddock next to it, so you get a view of the fields.
It sleeps eight, with four bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms have their own bathrooms, and there's a third bathroom as well. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean. The stairs are quite wide.
Downstairs there's a living room and a separate dining room, both with open fires. We leave some wood for you. The kitchen is fine, it's got what you need. There's a washing machine and a dishwasher.
The garden is enclosed, mostly lawn. There's a barbecue out there. It's safe for dogs and kids. We take two dogs.
Skenfrith is very small. The Bell pub is about a five minute walk. They do good food. The shop and garage are two miles away in Garway.
The ruined Skenfrith Castle is just down the lane, maybe three minutes on foot. It's free to walk around. It's right by the Monnow river, which is nice for a paddle.
Monmouth is about fifteen minutes by car. It's a proper town with supermarkets and shops. The castle there is interesting, and they have the only fortified bridge with a tower on it in the country.
For walking, you're spoilt. The Offa's Dyke path is close by. The Three Castles Walk links Skenfrith, Grosmont, and White Castle. The Skirrid mountain is about twenty minutes away, the views from the top are stunning. You can see the Brecon Beacons. Abergavenny is maybe twenty-five minutes. They have a famous food festival. The Walnut Tree, the Michelin-starred place, is just outside Abergavenny.
In terms of facilities, it's all there. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair. The entrance is level, so it's wheelchair accessible to get in. Parking is right outside.
