This is our place, Taigh An Uillt. It's in Kames, which is on the bit of coast they call Argyll's Secret Coast. It's a detached house.
It sleeps seven. Three bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. The main thing is the view. It's about twenty yards from the water, so you look straight out over the Kyles of Bute. You can see the ferry going back and forth to the Isle of Bute from the window.
The house is all on one level from the main entrance, so it's good if steps are a problem. There is a small step up into the shower. The garden is enclosed, which is handy if you have a dog or kids. We allow one well-behaved dog.
In the house there's a washing machine, a dishwasher, wifi, and parking for a couple of cars. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot if you need it.
Kames is quiet. Tighnabruaich is about a mile away. There's a shop there, a couple of cafes, and a pub. The pub at the Kames Hotel does food. For a really good meal, you'd drive to the Botanica or the Inver restaurant, which are both about twenty minutes away.
You're right on the water here. There's a small shingle beach just down from the house. For a sandy beach, Millhouse bay is a mile or so away.
If you want to get out, you can catch the ferry from Portavadie to Tarbert. The Portavadie Marina complex is about fifteen minutes drive and has a spa and a pool you can use. The ferry from Colintraive to Bute is very close. From there you can explore Mount Stuart. Inveraray Castle and the gardens at Ardkinglas are within half an hour.
