Clawdd Offa Barn

The barn is just outside Penyffordd in Flintshire. It's converted from an old stone barn on six acres, so you've got fields and a proper Welsh view.

It sleeps nine, across four bedrooms. There are two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and has everything you need. It's an old building though, so the ceilings are low in some doorways. You'll need to mind your head.

The main room is big. There's a woodburner that warms the place up nicely. The kitchen has a dishwasher and washing machine. The garden is enclosed and there's a hot tub. We ask that you're considerate when using it later in the evening because it's a quiet spot.

You can have up to one well-behaved dog. There's plenty of space for them to run.

The village has a shop and a pub about half a mile away. You're right on the Wats Dyke footpath, so you can start walking from the door.

For days out, Chester is about half an hour's drive. Chester Zoo is nearby. You can get to the beaches at Prestatyn or Rhyl in about 40 minutes. Liverpool is also 40 minutes away if you fancy a city trip. Snowdonia is about an hour, or you can head over to Anglesey.

The station in Penyffordd has trains to Wrexham, Chester, and Liverpool if you'd rather not drive.

Useful sites if you're planning: Wales Coast Path, Snowdonia National Park, and National Trust Wales.
