The Barn is a converted barn in Alvanley. It's detached, but we live next door in Clematis Cottage. It's Grade II listed, so it's got the character you'd expect from an old building. The conversion was done well, so it's comfortable.
It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms are master suites with their own bathrooms, one on the ground floor. There's also a double room and a bunk room. We've got it set up to be wheelchair friendly on the ground floor, which includes a bedroom and a wet room.
Downstairs is open plan: kitchen, dining area, living room. The kitchen has a dishwasher and washing machine. Doors lead out to the garden. It's a lawned garden, completely enclosed, with a patio area and a BBQ. There's a bit of a secret wooded bit at the end that leads to another smaller garden with a countryside view.
Upstairs, the stairs are fairly standard. You've got the other bedrooms and a family bathroom with a bath and a separate shower.
The village is quiet. There's a good pub that does food you can walk to. A shop is about a mile away. You're right on the edge of the Sandstone Trail for walking, and there are plenty of cycling routes from the door. We have a cycle rack.
For days out, Delamere Forest is close. It's good for a walk or a bike ride. Forestry England Delamere Forest has the details. Chester is about eight miles. The zoo is there, and the city walls. Chester Zoo is worth a visit. Cheshire Oaks shopping outlet is about twenty minutes away.
Liverpool and Manchester are both around forty minutes by car if you want a city day. The Trafford Centre is that way too. The Blue Planet Aquarium is near Cheshire Oaks.
In terms of what's here: all bedding and towels are included. There's a cot, highchair, and stairgate. Parking is on site. We have WiFi. No pets, I'm afraid.
