The Old Stables is in Alvanley, which is in the Cheshire countryside. It's a converted stable, so it has oak beams and exposed brickwork as you'd expect. It's listed, so the windows are deep and the ceilings are high. It's spacious.
It sleeps seven, in four bedrooms. There are two bathrooms. It's got the 5 Star rating, which really just means it's well looked after and everything works. It's comfortable.
The main thing is the view. It looks west over fields and you can see all the way to the coast on a clear day. There's a wood burner for cooler nights. The garden is enclosed and private, with a patio and a BBQ. There's plenty of parking.
A pub serving food is about a five minute walk away. There's a shop in the village, about a mile. For bigger shops, Cheshire Oaks is fifteen minutes by car.
You're well placed to get out. Delamere Forest is ten minutes away. It's good for walking, cycling, or horse riding. The Forestry England page has trail maps.
Chester is about eight miles. You can see the cathedral, walk the walls, or visit the zoo. Liverpool and Manchester are about half an hour's drive if you want a city day. Helsby train station is just over a mile away if you'd rather not drive.
For facilities: there's wifi, a TV, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. There's bicycle storage. No pets, sorry.
